Our Series of Art in Unexpected Places
Join us as we welcome Chicago underground pillar Sam Prekop for a performance of new music among the blooming fields of Meadow Lane Farm. Limited to 75 guests, this is a BYO, picnic-style event. Doors open at 6, music begins at 7, and everyone is encouraged to stay, mingle, and enjoy the farm post-show until sunset.
About Sam Prekop
For more than 25 years, as a solo artist or as part of The Sea and Cake, Sam Prekop has created a singular sound, inventive and warm. His latest solo record, Comma (2020, Thrill Jockey), is a modern, minimal pop album for which he tapped into the experimental heritage of the modular analog synthesizer. His distinctive synth work is wide-eyed, delicate, and always bears his signature sense of melody, bringing together the unrestrained ambition of the avant-garde with the immediacy and accessibility of pop music. For this very special evening, we’re thrilled to present Sam’s performance of brand new, unreleased synthesizer work with Meadow Lane’s lush and bucolic beauty as its backdrop. Listen Here
About Meadow Lane Farm
A centuries-old private farmstead in southwest Michigan wine country, Meadow Lane was generously offered to us by its owners, Doug and Tracy Hoerr. We hope you’ll enjoy it in the spirit with which it’s shared.
To keep the show safe and relaxed for everyone in attendance, we ask that guests are vaccinated and symptom-free the day of the show.
