48 HOURS IN FEBRUARY
JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF WINTER ADVENTURE
DAY 1 - SETTLE IN AND SAY CHEERS
Check in to a cozy fireside room at The Harbor Grand. The inn offers unique packages with tasty housemade treats and locally crafted beverages delivered to your room upon arrival. Settle in and say cheers to your spontaneous getaway.
Take a short walk along the harbor to Bentwood Tavern. Known for artisan comfort cuisine crafted by local legend Chef Jenny Drilon, enjoy a satisfying, crave-worthy dinner and Bentwood’s warm, friendly gastropub vibe.
Consider a fireside nightcap at The Harbor Grand’s outdoor firepit. S’more service and blankets are complimentary to guests of the inn, and the gathering of hearty souls willing to embrace the season makes for lively conversation.
DAY 2 - SNOW FUN AND SPA TREATS
Take it slow because breakfast is coming to you. The Harbor Grand delivers fresh continental breakfast at whatever time you prefer. The warmth of the fire feels great with your frosty view of the harbor. This is quality PJ time.
Ready for adventure? Bundle up and head to Love Creek County Park for a healthy dose of fresh air and wide open space. Cross-country ski, snowshoe, fat tire bike or hike 200 acres of Michigan goodness. Onsite rentals make it easy.
You must be hungry! Greenbush Brewing Co. is your apres-ski spot. Warm up with killer bbq and a seriously good craft beer. Your pink cheeks are proof that you totally earned it.
Back at The Harbor Grand, take advantage of the steamy indoor pool and jacuzzi. Somehow, floating and soaking feel delightfully decadent as you overlook the winter landscape.
Treat Yo Self to a relaxing hot stone or Swedish massage in The Harbor Grand’s wellness room. Wear your robe en route for the full spa experience. You’re only steps away.
Enjoy a yummy rustic Italian meal at the inn’s fireside restaurant, Terrace Room. The flickering firelight, deep comfy seats, and attentive service complete your transition to me-time. This feels good, right?
DAY 3 - DISCOVER A MIDWESTERN WONDER
Repeat yesterday’s morning routine. Because this does not happen at home. Where your to-do list lives.
Bundle up one more time for a final outdoor adventure. Shelf ice, unique to southeast Lake Michigan, is a majestic sight reminiscent of arctic landscapes. View from the elevated dune walk at New Buffalo beach, or explore miles of shoreline. (But do not climb! Despite its scale, shelf ice is not stable.)
Before heading home, fuel up at The Stray Dog, New Buffalo’s landmark bar and grill. The menu of Midwestern guilty pleasures and extensive craft beer offerings are sure to satisfy the rugged adventurer that you are.
