EXPLORE BY KAYAK OR PADDLEBOARD

Some landscapes are best explored from the water. Meandering through woodland and rare Great Lakes wetland, the three-mile Galien River Marsh Trail presents an opportunity to trade your hiking boots for a paddle and adventure by kayak or stand-up board. Perfect for beginners, the trail is wide, calm, and blessedly quiet, save for the splash of your paddle and the surrounding wildlife.

Hourly and daily rentals are available May-September. Reservations aren’t required, but highly recommended to ensure availability.

Local Tip: Kayak and paddleboard rentals depart from New Buffalo Public Boat Launch, just across the street from the beach. With an average time on the trail of 1-3 hours, you can easily make it part of your beach day.
