Elevating queer community and expression
Although our corridor of the lakeshore has a long-established LGBTQ+ community representing significant contributions to business, art, and culture, it took two creative young 20-somethings to launch its first ‘official’ celebration of Pride in 2021.
Now in its fourth year, Harbor Country Pride is an enthusiastically embraced occasion for music, dance, drag, advocacy, and family fun. But perhaps the centerpiece, and the event the founders are most proud of, is Grom—a free, safe, inclusive formal for teens to dress up and dance in celebration of prom, graduation, and each other.
Whether you’re in-community or ally, all are welcome to this buoyant, colorful, weeklong fest. Find the full schedule and links for tickets and reservations here.
