A WEEKEND CELEBRATION OF VISIONARY, FOLK, AND OUTSIDER ART

A respected centerpiece of the lakeshore art community for decades, Judith Racht’s been unceasing in her commitment to show and celebrate intuitive work at her landmark schoolhouse-turned-exhibition-space Judith Racht Gallery. Labor Day weekend marks the gallery’s 27th annual Outsiders Outside Art Fair, gathering 40+ folk and self-taught artists from across the country, drawing throngs of serious collectors, fans, and the simply curious to schoolhouse grounds. Always original and entertaining, come meet the artists and explore their colorful character and unbound imagination.

Day passes are $10, with the exception of Friday evening’s opening benefitting Michiana Humane Society. The $25 ticket includes weekend-long admission, music, cash bar and food, and a chance to rub elbows with a truly inspired and engaging art community.

Local Tip: If you haven’t had your fill of visual stimulation, Alchemy and Sojourn are fantastic stops minutes away. Debrief with drinks and tasty food-truck fare at nearby Sideyard.
