As the name suggests, this jewel box of a shop curates Scandi-inspired homewares, gifts, clothing, shoes, and furniture. Designed to bring style to and enhance everyday living, you can’t help but be reminded of Marie Kondo’s does it spark joy? standard while browsing. From a simple, sleek glass carafe to a clever reusable lunch bag, the answer is yes, over and over.

Modern and minimal, owners Annette & Reinhard Brinkmeier source lines throughout Europe and the US, often visiting vendor workshops and headquarters for greater insight before bringing items into the store. The result is a skillfully styled collection sure to reveal your new favorite something — lantern, sweater, throw, maybe even chair. Everyday items made more beautiful and useful through the Scandinavian lens of simple pleasure, innovation, and craft.

Artist Brian Overley’s neo-modernist paintings are another draw. A friend of the Brinkmeier’s, SO is an ideal setting and one of very few places the notoriously demure artist chooses to show. The couple’s clean but never overly austere aesthetic is a perfect foil for his colorful, compelling work.

If you can, linger for Fika — Swedish for ‘coffee and cake break.’ True to the tradition’s intent, Annette, Reinhard, and their staff are warm hosts and a super fun chat. (Not to mention talented bakers and baristas.) Seated at the little coffee bar midway through the space, Stockholm Objects is as much a social hub as it is a shop. A welcoming crossroads of style and culture.

Local Tip: While Harbert doesn’t have a true downtown, SO sits in the center of a small collection of cafes and galleries we love. Harbert Swedish Bakery, Alchemy Art + Antiques, Judith Racht Gallery, and Gather are all worthy stops.
